Mini Cheddar-BBQ Turkey Meatloaf Muffins
These Mini Cheddar BBQ Turkey Meatloaf Muffins make for a fun and easy weeknight meal. They are healthy and a great make-ahead or meal prep recipe as well. My kids love them!
I don’t make meatloaf – of any kind – very often, for no other reason other than it just doesn’t come to mind when I think of what to make for dinner. That’s probably because I didn’t really grow up eating meatloaf, so it doesn’t really fall into the everyday comfort food category for me. Does it for you?
There are two meatloaf recipes that I have made over the years when I have made meatloaf and they have become my go-to meatloaf recipes. They are both very different from each other and it just depends on whether or not I want a more traditional recipe like this copycat Boston Market Meatloaf recipe, or a lighter but oh so delicious one like Barefoot Contessa’s Turkey Meatloaf (I love this one!!).
Anytime I do make meatloaf, my meat loving husband is a happy man. And after making these Mini Cheddar-BBQ Turkey Meatloaf Muffins apparently now I know that my children are both fans as well. I guess I know whats going into the dinner rotation more frequently (along with this Mini Honey Mustard Meatloaf recipe we love).
I was inspired to make this mini versions of meatloaf from my friend Liz, who writes the blog The Lemon Bowl (I’ve been finding myself stalking her blog for dinner ideas quite frequently, along with Melanie’s blog, Nutritious Eats). It’s nice to get ideas from other busy moms that like to eat food you like to eat, and have to still feed young children food that they will like as well – I’m always inspired by both ladies!
These turkey meatloaf muffins came together super easily and quickly, using ingredients I always have on hand.
Side Dish Recipes For Mini Turkey Meatloaf Dinner
Oven roasted potatoes like these Roasted Red Potatoes with Smoked Paprika or Dill Potato Wedges are always great side dishes for this meatloaf recipe.

Love the Panko and diced tomatoes!!! These look so good- my husband is a meatloaf lover too. 🙂 xoxoxo
These look so good, will have to try them.
Until recently I hated meatloaf of any kind. That was until I discovered the mini versions which are basically meatballs. Since I don’t like the overly mushy-ness of meatloaf the smaller ones have more surface area and are therefore less mushy. These are right up my alley!
My family loves meatloaf, we have it often but I’m like you I didn’t grow up eating it. This looks fantastic!
This has been bookmarked! My Mom never made meatloaf growing up, so the first time I had it is when I first made it ;). I don’t make it often, but Josh really likes it…so maybe its time again! Plus your version looks super good
I am not a big meatloaf lover either but these look cute and I could see how they would go over really big with kids!
These look amazing, Aggie! I love meatloaf but rarely make it because, like you said, I just never think about it. Think I’ll be adding it to this week’s meal plan!
These sound like the ULTIMATE comfort – yum!
How fun! Definitely need to try this for myself!
Oh wow!! I love this Aggie!!!
We actually make meatloaf fairly often but I’ve never done it in muffin/cupcake form. This flavor combo sounds delicious!!
I need to start making it more often! I really do love a good leftover meatloaf sandwich with ketchup the next day 🙂
Mmmmm, these look fantastic and would make a totally great family meal. Love the corn, tomato and basil saute too…wonderful combo!
My family adores meatloaf, but I have yet to make it with turkey. These meatloaf muffins remind of a recipe I used to make, and now I’m wondering where that recipe is, must find it!! I just printed off your recipe, will be enjoying it soon – thanks, Aggie! 🙂
My hubby loves meatloaf too but I don’t make it very often either since I am not a big meat eater but these mini’s look and sound perfect! Our son would definitely love this too. Thanks for sharing Aggie!
These look awesome and I bet my boys would devour them!
I am intrigued! My husband loves meatloaf but I’ve never made it for him.
What a great idea! I think my family would be more into meatloaf if I made muffins like this!
I grew having meatloaf about once a week, but I can’t remember the last time I’ve made it. I bet my kids would adore meatloaf muffins though!
something about the muffins…
I am not for meatloaf either. But the muffins looks interesting, my boys will love it.
I love meatloaf but am not a fan of ground turkey! ha! I do have some in the freezer… maybe I should defrost it and give these a try!
We use ground turkey so much it’s a treat to cook ground beef 🙂 If you season it right it turns out great – let me know if you try it out!
When we lived in Hawaii I rarely cooked anything heavy, and never anything like a meat loaf. It didn’t take my little kids very long to adapt to meatloaf once we moved away, and now they clamor for it–even when my meatloaf has 48.3% meat in it!
Your meatloaf muffins look absolutely adorable, and what a great way to portion out the protein!
These sound so comforting! And I love the mini-size! 🙂
Oh wow, these look wonderful! I love meatloaf when it’s made right and yours sounds amazing!
I made these the other night and my family thought they were great. I just finished off the last one for lunch, with some eggs and sauteed mushrooms, yum! I hadn’t made meatloaf with turkey before, and this proved to be a nice light version, perfectly lunch portioned. Thanks!
