Food and Football Roundup!

Are you guys ready for some serious food?

Football is fall to some of us. Whether you are a fan of the game, have a favorite team or could really care less, it’s just another excuse to get together with friends and enjoy some fantastic food!

Thanks to everyone who took the time to send in a recipe and promote this event on their blog. This is such a great way to share delicious ideas with each other.
I am so excited to share these crowd pleaser dishes with all of you!

Deceptively Light Layered Bean Dip
submitted by Hollee at Two Kids and a Kitchen

For those of you that are health conscience (and those that aren’t!), grab some dippers, this one’s for you!

Kick Off Steak Sandwich
submitted by Katherine of Smoky Mountain Cafe

Garlic bread, steak, Gruyere cheese spread, roasted peppers…need I say more?
This is one heck of a sandwich!

Baked Brie
submitted by Maris of The World of Mar

The perfect munchie for the cheese lovers in the crowd (like me!). Creamy Brie topped with sweet cherries and crunchy almonds, the perfect combination of sweet and savory!

Espresso Chocolate Chip Cookies
submitted by Sharon of Culinary Adventures of a New Wife

Who wouldn’t want a “grown up” cookie like this after watching their team win?

Game Day Chicken Chili
submitted by Lisa of Jersey Girl Cooks

Perfect comfort food for fall and football, and bonus – this one is healthy!

Grilled Brats with Maple Glazed Apple and Onion Sandwiches
submitted by Prudy aka Erin of Prudence Pennywise

Prudy was inspired by a famous “brat” when she came up with these. Tangy mustard, sweet onions and apples over a grilled brat is a touchdown in my book.

Avocado Stuffed Marinated Mushrooms
submitted by Candy of The Courageous Cook

Tangy marinated mushrooms stuffed with creamy avocado – I’m sold. Here’s a quick and easy one to bring to any gathering!

Easy Barbeque Pork Sandwiches
submitted by Jamie

Who can resist a moist and tender barbeque sandwich?
Have your Crockpot do the work for this one!

His and Hers Nachos and Red Velvet UGA Cupcakes 2 Ways with Fluffy Meringue or Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting
submitted by Mary Ann of Meet Me in the Kitchen

Mary Ann outdid herself here…more traditional nachos for him and delicious guilt free nachos for her. And save room for those luscious cupcakes…they almost made me forget that they are Georgia Bulldog inspired! (Gotta love football rivalries right?)

Corn and Black Bean Salsa
submitted by Barbara of Barbara Bakes

I don’t know how long a bowl of this colorful dip will last during Game Day…get out those tortilla chips and dig in!

Peanut Butter Popcorn
submitted by Natalie of Hot off the Garlic Press

I didn’t think it could get any better than peanut butter and chocolate, but Natalie found a way, add it to popcorn. Yes, this will most definitely be served at my house this weekend.

Steak and Cheese Hot Pockets, Miso Pumpkin Chili and Poutine Casserole
submitted by Nikki of Nik Snacks

Here’s another girl who outdid herself in the kitchen with some unbelievable comfort food…

Hut 1 (Hot Pockets)… Hut 2 (Miso Pumpkin Chili)…Hut 3 (Poutine Casserole)… HIKE!
Another Touchdown!!!!!

Five Layer Mexican Dip
submitted by Lisa of Harper Valley

Your dippers will be busy this season…this dip has layers of fresh and healthy ingredients that’ll knock your socks off!

Jamaican Jerk Chicken Wings with Island BBQ Sauce
submitted by me

What’s football without wings? Here’s my version with an island twist. Tim Tebow told me they were his favorite… (just kidding! it wasn’t Tim Tebow, it was my husband.)

Well, I hope you had as much fun as I did!
Please take the time to check out each others great blogs!

Happy Football Season and thanks so much for being part of my first event!
