5 Healthy Homemade Salad Dressings
If you looked inside my refrigerator, you would find a small section of salad dressing bottles that are a third to half empty. I have a salad dressing buying problem. I buy them thinking it will make my salad a day habit easier and more interesting, but in reality, even if I love the dressing I bought (there are a couple I really love) I tend to get tired of them real quick. Unless I get through the bottle in a week, I pretty much shun the dressing because it doesn’t taste “fresh” anymore. Such a waste. I probably should just limit myself to buying one bottle at a time…or just continue to make my own. 🙂
There really is nothing more fresh or better tasting than healthy homemade salad dressings. I do reserve the right to pick one up at the store to change things up or if I’m feeling lazy, but it’s so easy to make your own salad dressing it’s a shame not to. The combinations are endless and you can’t question any of the ingredients. Here are a few of my personal favorites I’ve posted over the years. Grab a little jar and get ready to make your own!
Creamy Avocado Dressing
Greek Salad Dressing
Honey, Lime and Garlic Vinaigrette

I’m totally with you! I have two brands that I adore but I never make it more than halfway through the jar. Making dressing at home is totally the way to go! Love all these tasty recipes! <3Â
I know right! Ha ha, I don’t bother trying to replicate my favorite ranch or blue cheese…sometimes that’s just what you want, but so many ways to create a simple one from scratch!
Ahhh love this post so much!! For whatever reason, we never bought bottled dressing growing up and now as an adult we don’t buy it either. It’s just too easy to make our own. I usually whisk it in the bottom of the bowl before adding the salad ingredients. So easy and no clean up!
Whisking it in the bottom of the bowl is brilliant! We were the same, my family never bought it growing up (though Ranch seemed to make an appearance somewhere along the way). I’m such a vinaigrette girl, homemade is really the only way to go!
Thank you so much for this post. I deliberately didn’t order any bottles of salad dressing this week with my shopping! I always have ingredients to make a basic salad dressing – but I never do! This will kick start me into making my own. Great post. Sammie http://www.feastingisfun.com
Thanks Sammie! I hope you try some…it’s really simple, just takes a little effort and is so worth it. 🙂
yes please to all of them! thanks for including me!
What a fantastic rundown. I get bored with salad dressings too if I use them too often.
YUM! I really need to try that avocado dressing- sounds amazing!
These all look great, and I need some new ideas to jazz up my summer salads!
Great dressings! I love homemade and should really make them more often.Â
I always feel that way too…thanks Lisa!
