Send A Little Love To Your Dad With Harry & David {Giveaway}
(Disclosure: Harry & David provided me with a gift to send to my Dad. My thoughts and opinions are my own.)
(My Dad, me, my sister and my Mom – Sicily, 1980)
Father’s Day is just around the corner, believe it or not. I don’t know about you, but my dad has always been one of the hardest people to shop when it comes to any gift-giving type holiday. He doesn’t have typical “dad” hobbies like fishing or golfing, though he does love to cook (but works so much – at a restaurant – that he doesn’t really get in his own kitchen at home as much as he would like to). Does anyone else have a hard to shop for dad like me?
(My Dad and I on my wedding day in 2002)
My Dad, he does have a sweet tooth. A very sweet tooth. After all, he was a baker back in the day. He’s also a snacker. Loves his snacks at his side while he’s watching his Italian soccer games on television. With all this in mind, and knowing the goodness and quality of Harry & David, all of sudden gift giving got a little bit easier for me. When Harry & David asked if I wanted to send one of their popular Father’s Day themed gifts to my Dad, I knew he would love it. How could he not? Look at just a few of the options and ideas they offer:
(I reviewed the Sausage, Cheese and Cracker gift – middle top row – during the holidays. This one was loved by my husband!)
I decided on surprising my Dad (he doesn’t really read my blog, so yes, it will be a surprise 😉 ) with a festive Father’s Day Gift Tower, sent right to his door. I can’t wait till he gets it!
And thanks to Harry & David’s generosity, I am offering you one to send to your Dad (or a favorite Dad in your life) too!

This post made me cry! Your pictures are beautiful! I lost my dad 2 1/2 years ago and miss him terribly. My husband is an awesome dad to our 13 year old girl. And he is a snacker 🙂
Sad that my Dad is back home and I won’t be able to spend it with him! But I’ll give him a call and probably subscribe him to his fave magazine as a surprise!
We love to celebrate Father’s Day at the beach when we can. My Dad, husband and brothers-in-law keep the kids busy, while the moms prepare a great dinner- fish, crabs, bbq and corn-on-the-cob (my Dad’s favorite).
I tweeted!
Love those old photos of you!!! Is it just me or do you look like your mama?? I’m excited to spoil my husband this year – he’s such a great father! It will probably involve a BBQ of some sort. 🙂
I would LOVE to win this. My dad would be thrilled. He is a foodie, through and through. I make him a batch of granola pretty much every other week. I tell him its my way of paying him back for college ;). Aside from going out to a good meal, we also like to do something outdoorsy, like go fishing!
My dad is SO hard to shop for too! He has hobbies he’d probably get into more if he had time (like golf), but he more or less just works 🙁 We usually have a cook out or go to a baseball game

My father just passed away and my husband can not eat sweets thus the dad I would like to receive this is my son-in-law. He is an excellent dad to my little granddaughters and I am excited to watch him raise them to be caring Christian women.
normally I make and write a card for him

What a beautiful post and it makes me miss my dad even more it’s been 8 years since he passed.
My husband loves to spend Father’s Day at home with all of us order Pizza and watch movies as a family.
I love my dad! He loves to golf. Since he had his stroke he really struggles, but it is fun just to get him out there and when he does make that long drive, it is so wonderful seeing that look of accomplishment on his face!
My dad will be with me for father’s day after 6 yrs…its gonna be special…:)
father’s day is all about giving as many sweet treats to my dad!
We plan to have a grill out and just spend the day with him.
What a great story. I made my dad sign up for my daily emails so he would read my posts.
Usually with a BBQ, he picks out his own gift and the kids give lots of love!
I just like to spend the day with my Dad hanging out and munching on yummy food!
My dad has passed away but we still have a family BBQ on father’s day.

How sweet! Love your photos of you and your Dad. Thanks for the great giveaway, Aggie!
We usually have a BBQ. It includes all the dads in my life and they love meat. Win-win.

My dad doesn’t get around much any more so we go to his house and grill hamburgers and hotdogs. And we can’t forget the corn and watermelon.
Although my Dad passed away 2 years ago, I still remember how happy he was with whatever I gave him for Father’s Day. My husband would really enjoy this gift box!
My dad passed away 4 years ago on the7th, so usually we spend the day with my FIL and let him know how special he is to us.
We celebrate by making a citrusy sweet dessert like key lime pie followed by a gift that will challenge his brain like a logic puzzle or video game.
My dad passed away almost two years ago. I miss him every day. I’d give this gift box to my husband, who is a terrific dad to our kids and an all-round terrific guy.
I tweeted about your giveaway https://twitter.com/liasim/status/339898624806891521
I am blessed to be surrounded by amazing dads. My FIL and husband would battle over one of these baskets!
You know how much I love those old photos. Love, love, love. What a special dad. And you are beautiful!!
I just realized we spend most of our day centered around food. Special breakfast, normally a picnic lunch somewhere and grilling out or a special dinner. Always spending the whole day together, with the kids hopefully not fighting too much!
My husband is a great dad to our adult children. I’d love to win this for him!

Celebrate at home with dad
I make him meals as a surprise.
We will have a BBQ for my dad.
I am actually finishing up a scrapbook for him from his military days!
It’s a lot harder to celebrate now that we live in different states! Growing up, my sisters and I would cut a cantaloupe in half, scoop out the seeds, and put a big ol’ scoop of ice cream in the middle and serve it to him for his breakfast in bed and give him all of our handmade cards and pictures. Now, I send a card and call. Lame-o.
My family likes to celebrate Father’s Day with a delicious dinner since my dad loves food. Sadly, I wont be around him this Father’s Day so I will have to come up with a back up plan. This will be the first year my husband gets to celebrate. Of course, the celebration will include food, unless the baby comes early.
We celebrate Father’s Day by going to the collectible car cruise in, then a hike and a great dinner!
do not see my dad on fathers day
I have my dad over to my house and make his favorite BBQ meal
I have 2 favorite dads in my life. Mike and my dad….who you know soooo well! This year, like last year I get to be with both of them on Father’s Day. The best way to celebrate is just to be with them, show them how much we love and appreciate them. And a nice breakfast or dinner of their favorite foods is always nice.
Your dad will love his Harry and David gift! And the winner too!
I like to celebrate Dad by having a cookout with the kids
My Dad passed away 7 yrs ago, so the Dad in our lives is my ex-husband and my daughter would love to give this to him.
We like to shower him with his favorite foods, gifts and homemade cards.
I tweeted! https://twitter.com/katiemur80/status/340090100023181312
We celebrate Father’s Day on the front porch of my sister’s bungalow having brunch. The whole family comes, including his great grandchildren. We eat wonderful food, visit and enjoy time with Dad/Pa/Great-Pa!
we celebrate by having a BBQ at my grandma and grandpas every year!
We usually celebrate by taking Dad out to the local Chinese restaurant. He loves Chinese food and doesn’t get to go very often but he knows that Father’s Day, at least, he gets to go!
I tweeted about your contest.
My dad just passed away a few months ago, so Father’s Day this year will be a bit less festive. But my husband is a great dad to our kids and would love some Harry and David snacks!
We celebrate by letting the dad’s go golfing, then a nice bbq and hopefully its nice weather!
My dad works at a prison for kids under the age of 18 as a English teacher. He loves his job and he loves the kids, he tells us how they act like they are ruff and tuff but that need lots of TLC. Some of the kids are too mean but he still try’s to teach them and love them. I myself am a teacher as well but not like my dad. He is truly my hero and I hope he gets picked for this. Thank you for the chance.
This would be nice to enjoy as a nice gift when he gets back from Haiti as he does humanitarian aid with a mission. Thanks for the giveaway!
We just like to spend the day together and of course a good meal!

I’m so thankful I never doubted my dad’s love for me. I hear stories all the time about poor relationships with fathers. But not mine and I value that. My dad lives alone after my mom died. He lives near my siblings but on the other coast from where I live. I don’t get to spend Father’s Day with him but I always try to find something special to send to him. He loves cookies and sausage and …food goodies. This would be perfect for him. I sent him cookies from Harry and David’s at Christmas and he loved them.
and I pinned. I really want to win this! 🙂
We always celebrated Father’s day with my father-in-law having my sons fly in for the weekend & gathering around for a big meal. He passed 3 weeks ago but my sons will travel with my husband & I to MA to my sister-in-law to divvy up the photos & memorabilia we took from his apt. & celebrate his life & now the new Head of the clan-my husband-with a big meal for Father’s Day!
My dad, at 73, still gets as excited over ANY present as a little kid. I stay on the lookout year-round for things that I think he’d enjoy, buying lots of little things here and there and planning for one or two more expensive items. I can’t tell you the indescribable joy I get watching him open his gifts – it makes me so thankful that he’s still here with me 🙂
My daddy passed away last July…. but we always spend the day together. Church and lunch. then back to my husband and I’s house to visit.

Great pics Aggie! I would love to win for my stepdad who raised me like one of his own!
I was born on Father’s Day, so it’s always been a special day for both me and my dad! This year my birthday is on Father’s Day again, so I’m looking forward to spending the day with my dad! He is 83 years old now and lives a ways away from me, but I still make it a point to spend as much time with him as possible!
my Dad pasted away a long time ago …but he used to love the Garden so on Father’s Day i work in the Garden doing things he loved to do …..
My dad passed away during my senior year of high school about three months before graduation due to cancer. Every Father’s Day, I meet my mom and my parents’ best friends for lunch. When my dad passed away, his three best friends (and their wives) stepped in and helped my mother raise me. This year will be my husband’s first Father’s Day, and I can’t wait to watch the bond between father and daughter grow. He has no idea how much our 3 week old little girl is going to change his life. 🙂
I like to celebrate my husband on father’s day by cooking anything he wants. He is the chef in our house, so really just not having to cook is a treat for him.
I always cook his choice of the day – usually prime rib or steak.
On Father’s Day me and my father always spend the day at the beach! It’s nice to just relax and enjoy the sun with my daddy!
By spending the day together, with family and making a special meal and dessert
I always send a card (usually from the kids section because they’re better) and if I’m lucky I get to spend the day WITH my dad. Father’s day usually falls very close to my mom’s birthday so I try to visit and celebrate with them both!
My father passed away many years ago, but we celebrate my husband on Father’s Day, who is the Dad to two furkids (collies).
My mom passed away in February and this father’s day will be very special. He’s having a hard time adjusting to life without his love, and I want him to know how special he is to us.
I never had a dad growing up. I celebrate Father’s Day with my husband letting him do whatever he wants that day.
we make the whole day about my hubby and daughters father, lunch and a movie
I think we should all celebrate Fathers not just on Father’s day but in everyday life. My Dad doesn’t live close by to me, so I make sure to call and chat with him from time to time. 🙂 For Father’s Day, I’ll take the kids to spend the day with him. Spend some time time together and dine out (he’s a foodie like me.) I know we’re going to have a great time together. And I know he would appreciate the Harry & David gift set a lot too. 🙂 Thanks for hosting the giveaway and share this precious picture with us.

Happy fathers day to all the dads out there and yes we should celebrate father (and mothers) more than just one day but hey being a parent is a thankless job I’ve been told
I love making my dad breakfast on Father’s Day!
By spending the entire day with him & cooking him a great meal!
We like to go out to eat! Dad gets to pick where. 🙂
We usually celebrate with a cook-out and Mom and Dad’s house. Dad does the grilling because she is the GRILLMASTER. He doesn’t mind as long as Mom and I make the rest of the food. And we have to make Strawberry Shortcake as that is his favorite dessert.
This is a fun giveaway! Happy Father’s Day!

We grill out steaks and drink Red Stripe, his favorite beer : )
It’s very nice of them to send that to you!
Unfortunately, I don’t get to celebrate with my dad in person; we live too many states away from one another. However, I’ll certainly take him out for ice cream when I see him (along with sending a Father’s Day card, gift, etc.)
Sadly, my dad doesn’t live close to me forcing us to celebrate from afar. He would love something like this though 🙂
We like to celebrate him, and all that he’s done for us by taking him to Churchill Downs, or out for a round of golf! Both of which he loves!
For Father’s Day I always bake my husband’s favorite chocolate cake with mocha frosting, and make whatever he wants for dinner, which is usually grilled steak. Our kids come over for dinner and then we play a board game or cards.

We will all be at a family wedding!
I am sad I can’t be with my dad this year, so I will send him a card and perhaps this wonderful gift! He’s the best!
I am trying to plan a trip home to see my father this summer… and am hoping to tell him my plans on Father’s Day! This would be a great gift to send him in the mail as well.

We celebrate by allowing my husband to watch the U.S. open in peace and quiet, and then head to my dads for a BBQ!

Love to celebrate Father’s Day by grilling or smoking dinner outside and relaxing on the porch. I don’t get to celebrate it in person with my dad this year, and I am bummed!

We like to take him out to a restaurant of his choice. He’s not a very sentimental (at least not in front of us) person, so he’s super happy with a gift card to a sporting goods store (since he hunts for a hobby) and a meal. 🙂 It’s simple, but whatever floats your boat, right?
My sweetie is going to be a first time dad in about 3 months, and this would be a perfect way to celebrate him. I just want to reassure him that he’s going to be a great dad.
I’m making a great steak dinner with a decadent chocolate dessert.
Dinner at a top restaurant.
I’m going to give my dad a big hug and somethings special that I bake. I haven’t decided just what but he’s always grateful!
I made my father-in-law a dinner of all his favorite foods, and my brothers and brothers-in-law are taking my dad out golfing!
