It feels too early to be planting gardens, but I don't think we're going to have any more freezes at this point, so why not? Then we can enjoy the "fruits" of our labor even longer. Thanks for the inspiration!

My thumb was not always green, it gets a little greener ever year :) Starting small is a very good idea, that's exactly what I've done over the years. What are you planning on growing? Good luck and have fun!

My thumb is not always green :) It has its moments. I have way better luck with my containers than with my garden so we will see this year! What do you mean by your tomato plants getting leggy? Do you snip off the early stems (hard to explain, but if you look at where your stem grows out of base stem, if there are two growing from same spot I snip the older/longer one to promote the new growth)? My grandpa taught me that early on and its something I always do. I took a picture and should have included it in this post for anyone that is not familiar. next one...

Good luck with the garden! keep me posted...and yes, fresh herbs are the best :)

We are starting our first little garden this year. I definitely do not have a green thumb, so we are starting small. I cannot wait to see if it produces anything!

Looks like you have a green thumb! I've got a few plants that I've put in 5 gallon buckets to see how they do. Currently the herbs are doing great! My 4 tomato plants look great but for some reason they get all leggy as the season continues. I love using fresh herbs in my cooking ;)

Your garden looks great! I need a small spot in the yard for one. I've held off doing it and also using containers. Thanks for inspiring me!

Yes, we have the same weed problem. We just bought that same product you bought today, hoping it works well! We've always done Miracle Gro too. One of our flower beds has a big tarp and rocks over it to keep the weeds out that the old owners had. We are planning to rip it all up next year, it's terrible, I can't plant anything b/c of it, not sure what they were thinking.

I love your garden. It's so nice to have one. Our last house we had a monster sized one that I did everything from tomatoes to corn. I even did pumpkins and watermelon. Our new place has so many mature trees it's hard to find a spot to do the garden. I may try raised beds. It's so relaxing to spend time out there. I love that you have a chair to chill out in.
