Ina Garten’s Pasta with Sun-Dried Tomatoes
Posted by Aggies Kitchen on July 9th, 2009. Filed under: Barefoot Bloggers, Barefoot Contessa, Healthy Meals, Ina Garten, Salad.Just in case you don’t know who the Barefoot Bloggers are…
We’re an [extra]ordinary group of cookers and bakers with a love of all things Ina. We’ll be testing (and retesting) Ina Garten’s (The Barefoot Contessa) recipes as a group and blogging about them on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month.
This pasta salad was wonderful. It had all of my favorite flavors in it…capers, tomatoes, basil, olives…I just knew I would love it as soon as I read the recipe. I substituted whole wheat pasta and added some chopped red onion and additional capers to the pasta for some extra crunch. I was so excited to use basil and tomatoes from my garden…a delicious combination of cherry and San Marzano tomatoes. This is definitely a salad perfect for summer get togethers, or for a nice easy dinner served alongside some Italian Herb Grilled Chicken…stayed tuned for that recipe!
This recipe can be found in the Barefoot Contessa Family Style cookbook or here on Food Network.

What a beautiful dish! I love the chicken too! I really need to get myself an Ina cookbook. I never thought I'd like her until I started reading everyone's barefoot bloggers posts.

Ina is one of my favourites and her recipes are always a winner. I have been missing out on being a Barefoot Blogger for the past few months.

I think you left your sun-dried tomatoes in bigger pieces than I did. When I make it again, I think I'll do it your way–the better to be able to pick them all out for me, me ME!
And the chicken on the side looks awesome too!

When I first saw your pic (while munching on a bowl of mine) I thought i must have forgotten the red onion in the recipe because it just looks so good and right and would have added just a little bite to mine.

If it were lunch time I'd feel hungry just by looking at your pics! (fortunately it's breakfast time here in Paris, I won't have to rush to the kitchen to get that pasta done!)
