Jamie’s Easy Barbeque Pork Sandwiches

My sister in law Jamie sent me this recipe for my Food and Football event! It’s perfect for game day, or any day really! We are big fans of barbeque in this household. What I love about this recipe is that you can easily throw it in the crockpot early in the day and it will be ready for you when you are ready to chow down! Slow cooking it in the crockpot keeps the meat so moist and tender it just melts in your mouth. You can’t go wrong with this.

Thanks for the recipe Jamie!
Easy Barbeque Pork Sandwiches (in Crockpot)
*Recipe adapted from About.com (Southern Food)

Boneless Boston Butt Pork Roast

1 cup chopped onion
1-2 bottles of favorite barbecue sauce (I used 2 bottles, one was Honey Barbeque, the other regular)
3-4 TBLS honey
dash hot pepper
sandwich rolls

Place pork in slow cooker. Combine onion, barbeque sauce, honey & hot pepper. Pour over roast. Cover & cook on LOW setting for 7-9 hours. I let mine cook all day, around 9 hours. Remove from slow cooker and place in large pan to shred meat apart. Take out fat bits & any bones. Skim fat off sauce left in crockpot. Pour about 1 cup of sauce on meat and toss. Place on favorite sandwich buns. Pour extra sauce on top if desired.

These were served with seasoned steak fries and cole slaw. Great easy meal to throw together for the family or a crowd.

Meet Maximus,
he’s hanging out with my sweet niece Marissa,
he wants to be a taste tester…really really bad.
Isn’t he a cutie?
